Become a part of our staff! As an employee at CYC Junior Division, you will share your love and knowledge of sailing with the newest generation of sailors. Our team proudly creates a safe, fun, and educational environment to promote sailing throughout the community.
Jobs include:
Senior Helpers (14-15 yrs) - Volunteer on Junior Days to get exposure to what it means to be a counselor and counselor in training. Assist as needed for Junior Day Program. Sign-ups will be required.
Counselor in Training/CIT (16 yrs) - Attend Senior Day Programming and volunteer on Junior days to assist in Junior Instruction and receive mentorship from senior-level sailing instructors on how to create lesson plans, run small groups, and prepare the skills needed to be an instructor.
Junior- (17 yrs) and Senior- (18+) level sailing instructors - have, or will obtain, their Level 1 US Sailing Certification before the summer season. Work on either Junior or Senior programming days. May additionally run Adult, PBJ, or Race Team programs. Will be offered either full, part-time, or fill-in staff positions.
Director of Sailing - 21+, has Level 1, 2, and 3 US Sailing Certifications. Oversees all sailing instruction of all programs, including curriculum development and coaching the staff. Coaches and travels with the Race Team.
Director of Day Programming - 21+, has their Bachelors Degree, has Level 1, 2, and 3 US Sailing Certification. Structures and runs the Junior and Senior Day Programs. Oversees instruction of CITs.
