TALLY PETRAS

 

Day Program Director

 

Tally is a recent graduate of the University of South Carolina. She is currently working in elementary special education in Connecticut. Tally  grew up sailing at Junior Division every summer since she  was eight years old and hasn’t left since. She  loves being outdoors and can not wait to get back out on the water with everyone this summer!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CARLY MOOR

 

Sailing Instructor/ WSI

 

Carly Moor is a recent graduate of Moravian University. She majored in Early Childhood Special Education. In September, Carly will be teaching 6th-grade special education at Branchburg Central Middle School in Branchburg, NJ. Outside of school, Carly enjoys working out, lifeguarding, and eating Thai noodles, and she recently learned how to golf and ski! She has been involved in the CYC Jr. Division Program for over 14 years. Carly has worked as a counselor, lifeguard, swimming, and sailing instructor for the past 6 years. Carly is looking forward to having a fun and safe summer on Chaumont Bay.

 

 

 

 

MATTHEW KIMBALL

 

Sailing Instructor

 

Matthew is a 2022 graduate of Lyme Central Schools in Chaumont, New York. He plans on getting a bachelor's degree in wildlife management to then become a environmental conservation officer. Matthew has seen sailing with the CYC JD since he was 6 years old. You can find him spending his free time playing sports and being in the outdoors whether on the water or in the woods. Matthew can’t wait for the summer of sailing to start.

 

 

 

 

LUCAS LAVARNWAY

 

Sailing Instructor

 

Lucas is going to be starting his freshman year at Jefferson Community College. He began sailing as a junior when he was 11 and has loved it ever since. He has been a counselor for 1 year. When he’s not on the water, Lucas enjoys playing soccer, snowboarding, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He is looking forward to this summer!

 

 

 

 

Jack Leard

 

Sailing Instructor

 

Jack is a graduate of Bloomfield High School in New Jersey and plans to attend University of Maryland in the fall. He has been a part of CYC Junior Division since he was 8 and is excited to start his second summer as a sailing instructor. Jack competed in the Junior Olympics last year in Rochester, NY and was able to place second. He is extremely excited to share his knowledge of sailing this summer and have a blast on the water!

 

LUCY MCCULLOCH

 

Sailing Instructor

 

Lucy is so excited to return to Junior Division for her second year as a sailing instructor! This will be Lucy’s tenth year in the program, and she can’t wait to return to the water. She is from Princeton, New Jersey, and is a rising sophomore at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. Lucy is double majoring in Education Studies and Music, and also works at a Pre-K in Saratoga during the school year. When she isn’t sailing, Lucy loves going to concerts, cooking, and spending time outside. Lucy will be working with Juniors, Seniors, and PBJ—and can’t wait to meet everyone

 

 

 

 


PEYTON MOOR

 

Sailing Instructor/ Life Guard

 

Peyton Moor is from Somerville, New Jersey, and has been working at CYC Junior Division for 4 years but began as a camper at the age of 7. Peyton will be a rising junior at Susquehanna University, where she double majors in special and early childhood education and has a minor in English as a second language. At college, Peyton is very involved in her sorority, Kappa Delta, where she serves as vice president. In her free time, Peyton loves sailing, hanging out with her friends, spending time in the sun, running, and baking. Peyton is so excited to work as a counselor and lifeguard again this summer!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ADELAIDE WEIR

 

Sailing Instructor/ Life Guard

 


Addie will be a senior counselor this summer.  This fall, she will be going into her senior year at Watertown High School where she loves to swim and play the violin. During the winter, Addie is also a ski instructor at Dry Hill! Teaching sailing is one of her favorite things to do because it is a lifelong sport that values team building and communication. She is so excited to get back out on the water!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ALLY PETRAS

 

Junior Sailing Instructor

 

Ally is a rising high school senior from Glastonbury, Connecticut. In her free time she enjoys running and spending time with family and friends. Ally started Junior Division when she was 7 years old and has been a part of the program ever since. This will be her second year working as a junior sailing instructor and she is so excited to get out on the water!

 

 

 

 

Kirsten Widrick

 

Junior Sailing Instructor

 

Kirsten is a junior at Lyme Central School in Chaumont, New York. Kirsten has been sailing at CYC Junior Division since she was eight. Off of the water, you can find her playing soccer, softball, hiking, showing dairy cows, or being a Jefferson County Dairy Ambassador. Kirsten can not wait to get back out on the water this summer!
